US Moves To Seize US$140 Mn From Nigerian Oil Corruption

US authorities plan to confiscate the "Galactica Star" a yacht owned by a Nigerian oil executive, in an effort to recoup funds earned through a dirty contracts awarded by Nigeria's former oil minister.
US officials said Friday they plan to confiscate US$144 million in corruption-tainted assets of Nigerian oil executives found in the United States including an US$80 million yacht the "Galactica Star."

Shell Pays Compensation To Victims Of Pakistani Oil Tanker Fire

The oil tanker coming from Karachi and headed to Lahore overturned early this morning on the national highway at the Ahmedpur Sharqia area of the Bahawalpur district, some 400 km from Lahore, after a tyre burst and the driver lost control. 
A subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell said Wednesday that it made full payment in damages and compensation to the victims of an oil tanker fire in Pakistan that killed 215 people last month, hours after Pakistan's oil and gas regulator threatened legal action.

How DMO Paid ₦4.8tr Servicing Domestic Debt Interest In Five Years

The Debt Management Office (DMO) paid out over ₦4.8 trillion as interests in the last five years to banks and other investors. The money was lent to Nigerian Government from the domestic market through the FGN Bonds; Treasury Bonds or Treasury Bills issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as part of measures to check inflation caused by excess liquidity in the economy.
