BREAKING: 11 Dead In Shooting At French Satirical Weekly Charlie Hebdo In Paris

At least 11 people were killed in a shooting at the Paris offices of Charlie Hebdo, a satirical newspaper firebombed in the past after publishing cartoons joking about Muslim leaders. Five of the wounded are in critical condition.

Police so far confirm the death of one journalist, Daily Mail/AP/International news report. Three officers have been wounded.
French President Francois Hollande has arrived at the scene of the shooting, and will shortly hold an emergency government meeting, according to Reuters, citing a source at the president’s office.

France Info radio also said police had confirmed a toll of 10 dead and five injured after masked gunmen with AK-47s and rocket-propelled grenades stormed the building. 

The news channel quoted a witness as saying he saw the incident from a building nearby in the heart of the French capital.
Pierre de Cossette, a broadcast journalist with Europe1 News, said: 'Several men in black cagoules were heard to shout "the Prophet has been avenged".
