Kwara Records 30 Fire Incidents In 19 Days

The Kwara State Fire Service said it recorded over 30 cases of fire incidents in the month of January, which resulted from storage of petroleum products.

The head of the department of Fire Prevention of the service, Abdulwaheed Yakub disclosed this while speaking at a stakeholders meeting on how to eliminate sales of petrol at black markets in the state.

The meeting which was at the instance of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) in Kwara was attended by petroleum dealers, security operatives, media and officials from the state’s Ministry of Commerce and the Town Planning Authority.
Addressing the gathering, the head of Fire Prevention attributed the record of the fire incidents to storage of petroleum products by roadside black marketers.
