TheCable/The Punch/Orisun TV reports continue:

Bakare’s plea was announced on Facebook by broadcast journalist, Babajide Moronfolu.

“This is Olumide Bakare on his sick bed at UCH, Ibadan diagnosed of heart/Lungs disease,” Moronfolu wrote.

“In his words to me: Jide Omo Moronfolu, agbara mi o ka mo o, ba mi be a won Omo Nigeria mi won ran mi lowo pelu owo ati adura.

Translated to English, those words read: “Jide the son of Moronfolu, I can no longer bear this alone. Please help me beg Nigerians to assist me with money and prayers.”

The health of the Ibadan-based actor and former staff of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) has been deteriorating since 2013, and he once sought medical assistance from his US-based younger brother, who is a medical doctor.

He was rushed to the intensive care unit of UCH in the third week of December, after he suffered cardiac arrest.

According to Moronfolu, donations can be sent to the actor via: Olumide Bakare, Ecobank, 3872003592.

In its own news filing, The Punch reports that the health status of a veteran actor, Olumide Bakare, who is said to have been on admission at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State, may have deteriorated.

The Internet was flooded with reports of his falling health on Wednesday. While some of his fans were wishing him well, others called on the public to extend financial support to him to enable him to receive an urgent medical attention.

In a Facebook post, Babajide Moronfolu, a television presenter, said Bakare was critically ill, and would need financial assistance of well-wishers to stay alive.

Moronfolu also posted photographs of the movie star on his sick bed.

“This is Olumide Bakare on his sick bed at the UCH. He is diagnosed of heart/lungs disease according to his words to me. Orisun TV has taken the lead, please join in raising funds for this great, fantastic actor,” he posted.
Report said the Ibadan-based actor and former staff of the Nigerian Television Authority had been ill since 2013.
