Market Building By State Govt Collapses In S’West Ogun, Many Feared Dead

A four-storey market building under construction at the popular Itokun Market, Itokun in Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun state has collapsed killing yet-to-be-confirmed number of people.
Media reports continue:
Various sources are citing differing causality figures. The Sun is reporting 10 person have died while over 20 persons are trapped as a four-storey building came crumbling in the Itokun Market area of Ogun State, South West Nigeria
Victims according to witness accounts were likely to be mostly traders.
The collapse occurred in the early hours, as the traders were still trying to settle for the day's market activities. There had been a heavy downpour on Wednesday and Thursday, which sources disclosed might have impact in the disaster.
The state governor, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun is presently at the site to monitor the rescue work.
Those confirmed dead had been reportedly deposited at the General hospital, Ijaiye, about 1km away, while those with serious injuries rushed to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Idi Aba.
