Justice Daisy Okocha as administrative Chief Judge of Rivers state by the National Judicial Council (NJC)

Over 50 policemen on Tuesday morning escorted Justice Daisy Okocha into the premises of the Rivers State High Court where she has forcefully assumed office, Citizen News reports.

The State High Court, which has been under lock and key since June 10, 2014, due to the strike embarked upon by judiciary workers in the state, was forcefully opened by security operatives.

As at 10am on Tuesday when our correspondent visited the Bank Road location of the State High Court, over 50 armed policemen blocked the entrance of the two gates leading to the court premises with over 16 Hilux vans.
Journalists, who tried to move close to the gates were told by security agent manning the place to step backwards.
