Sierra Leone Floods Damage Crops

A traditional leader in eastern Sierra Leone's Kenema district says 300 residents of his village are at risk of starvation and disease after heavy flooding hit the area. Chief Gassimu Saffa of Waima Njeila told me that all their crops have been washed away by the heavy downpour witnessed in the area.

BBC reports that hundreds of others remain trapped and have been without food and shelter in the southern Bo district for days now.
