TERROR IN PARIS: 60 Killed, 100 Held Hostage, Released


There was a shootout at a restaurant on the Rue Bichat, two explosions near the Stade de France sports stadium and another shooting at the Paris Bataclan concert hall tonight

A series of coordinated terror attacks in the heart of Paris have left dozens of people dead and wounded. Dead bodies littered the streets of the French capital after at least 11 were killed in a shootout in a Korean restaurant on the Rue Bichat.

Another 15 in the Paris Bataclan concert hall where terrorists are said to be holding more than 100 people hostage. The gunmen shouted 'Allah Akbar' and opened fire when they burst into the theatre, one witness said. There were also two explosions outside the Stade de France sports stadium where the French football team are playing a friendly match against Germany tonight.

There were a total of six linked attacks throughout the city, police confirmed. Anti-terrorist police, soldiers and emergency personnel (bottom right) could be seen flooding into the area after the attacks began at around 9pm. French President Francois Hollande has declared a national state of emergency and shut the country's borders.

An attacker has been arrested and claims to have been recruited by ISIS alongside three other extremists, it has been reported.

At least 11 were killed in a restaurant shootout and another 35 at the Bataclan concert hall where terrorists were holding around 100 people hostage.

Police have since launched a successful raid on the theatre, killing two terrorists and freeing the hostages, French media has reported.

Just five miles away, two suicide bombers blew themselves up outside the Stade de France sports stadium where the French football team was playing a friendly match against Germany. 
French President Francoise Hollande declared a national state of emergency following what he called 'unprecedented terror attacks' and shut its borders with immediate effect.
