National
Security Adviser (NSA) Sambo Dasuki
|
A major decision on the
polls shift proposal is likely to emerge today as National Security Adviser
(NSA) Sambo Dasuki has summoned a consultative meeting.
Col. Dasuki has invited
all political parties, service chiefs, heads of security agencies and top
officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), led by Professor
Attahiru Jega.
Security reports,
preparations for the poll, status of the distribution and collection of Permanent
Voter Cards (PVCs), and Sambo Dasuki’s submissions at the Chatham House last
Thursday will feature at the session.
But ahead of the
consultation, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been lobbying weak parties
to make a “strong case” for the postponement of the general elections.
