The private plane of
Swaziliand's King Mswati III has been detained in Canada for the second
time in two years due to a debt dispute, according to Canadian court documents,
Reuters news agency reports.
The report continues:
The plane
was detained as part of a court case by a former business
partner of the king, Singaporean entrepreneur Shanmuga Rethenam, who says
he is owed around $8m (£5.5m) by the monarch, it adds.
Swaziland
government spokesman Percy Simelane on Wednesday denied that the king owed any
money, and said he could not comment further as the matter was in court.
Swaziland is one of the
world's last remaining absolute monarchies.
