President
Muhammadu Buhari arriving Nigeria

President Muhammadu
Buhari has finally returned to Nigeria after spending about 50 days in London
on medical vacation.
The
Guardian Nigeria report continues:
The
aircraft that conveyed the president to Nigeria landed at the Air Force Base in
Kaduna at 7.40am and was received by the Deputy Governor of the State, Barnabas
Bala Bantex. He was subsequently flown to Abuja by a presidential helicopter.
Buhari
left Nigeria in January for London to “undergo routine medical check-ups”
during a short holiday and was expected to resume work on February 6. But his
return was postponed on the advice of his doctors, his media aides said.
His
January visit to London would make it the second time in less than a year he
has gone there for medical treatment.
He
visited London in June 2016 for treatment to what the presidency described as a
persistent inner ear infection, which caused him to pull out of several
scheduled engagements. But his latest visit, however, has been dogged by the
rumours of his death.
Nigeria's Buhari "Feeling
Much Better" After Return From UK Medical Leave - State TV
Reuters
reports that Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari is "feeling much
better" to perform his duties, state television said on Friday, after he
returned home following two months of medical leave in Britain.
"The
president ... while addressing senior government officials who came to welcome
him, assured them that he is now feeling much better to perform his responsibilities,"
state TV NTA said on its website.
Buhari will dedicate
himself to the nation "to the best of his ability," it added.
