The Pastor of the Latter
Rain Assembly, Tunde Bakare, has warned politicians that the legacy left behind
by the late Premier of the old Western Region and founder of the Unity Party of
Nigeria, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, is not for sale and cannot be bought. He said the legacy was
borne out of the late sage’s selflessness and sacrifice to make life more
abundant for his people.
The
fiery pastor said this in his sermon on Tuesday night at the thanksgiving
service held for the late wife of the late sage, Chief Hannah Idowu Dideolu, at
her Ikenne country home.
Bakare
said if not for Papa Awolowo’s free education programme, he would have ended up
as a carpenter.
