Earlier
this month, the Sony email hack revealed that British actor Idris Elba was
being considered to star as the next James Bond, according to Buzzfeed.
However,
there were some people who couldn’t understand why a black man could play the part
of the fictional character.
American
radio host Rush Limbaugh said on his show: “Now Sony is suggesting that the
next James Bond should be Idris Elba, a black Briton rather than a white from
Scotland. But that’s not who James Bond is, and I know it’s racist to probably
even point this out.”
He
added: “We had 50 years of white Bonds because Bond is white. Bond was never
black.”
So
Elba decided to tweet this wonderful response to the haters:
The perfect, talented,
beautiful actor also thanked those who felt he had a shot to play the famous
role.
