Rwanda has the highest
rate of breastfeeding in the world, according to new figures from the World
Health Organization.
BBC
Africa Live report continues:
The
figures say 85% of mothers exclusively breastfeed their babies for the first
six months.
That's
compared to just 1% in the UK, which comes at the bottom of the list.
Here's
what the situation is in the rest of the world:
In a report in the medical
journal the Lancet researchers say breastfeeding improves child
development and reduces the incidence of breast cancer among women.
