Rwanda To Relocate Burundian Refugees To Third Country

There are currently more than 70,000 Burundian refugees in Rwanda, the UN says AFP

Rwanda says it plans to relocate Burundian refugees to other host countries, after being accused of attempts to destabilize its neighbour.

BBC Africa Live report continues:

Plans for the relocation will start "immediately", the government says.

Rwanda has been accused of arming and training refugees to fight against the current Burundian government, charges it denies.

Burundi has been hit by civil conflict since President Pierre Nkurunziza decided to stand for a third term.
"For Rwanda, the growing risks to our national security from the Burundian impasse and misunderstandings in our foreign relations are unacceptable," a government statement said.
