A Kenyan rescue official says a
number of people are feared trapped or dead after a five-story residential
building collapsed in downtown Nairobi.
The five storey residential
building had a sixth floor that was in the process of being built, according to
a survivor at the scene, and the Kenyan Red Cross tweeted that seven people had
so far been rescued from the building with four being referred to a nearby
hospital.
The Kenyan Red Cross tweeted that
seven people were pulled out alive from the rubble of the building that fell
down in the early hours Wednesday.

Mueke, the Deputy Governor of Nairobi County, said authorities are focusing on
the search and rescue operation but will later investigate why the building
collapsed.
