suffered headaches and dizziness from the bonfire (pictured) which saw 3.3 tons
of cannabis burned by Palmerah police at their subprecinct office 15.5 miles
from Jakarta. One journalist had to 'sit down and have a cup of tea' to deal
with the high and police also destroyed 1.8 kilograms of crystal meth and 2,538
ecstasy pills.

An Indonesian town was
high on more than just life when police set fire to more than three tons of
confiscated cannabis.
Residents of Tangerang,
15.5 miles west of the capital Jakarta, reported suffering from headaches and
dizziness after inhaling the tangy smoke given off by the bonfire.
The 3.3 tons of
marijuana were burned by Palmerah police at their subprecinct office in West
Jakarta earlier this month.
The haul was valued at US$1
million, according to Breitbart.com
Tangerang police chief
Senior Commander Riad told The Jakarta Post his officers seized the stash in
south Tangerang on February 2.
Police wore masks to protect them from the fumes but watching
civilians were left unprotected.
The smoke spread from the
yard to surrounding residents' houses.
The destruction of the
illicit substances was witnessed by several officials from the West Jakarta
municipality.
The
police also destroyed crystal methamphetamine, ecstasy pills, and heroin.
Tangerang police chief Sr. Cmr. Riad told The
Jakarta Post the police seized over 1,100 pounds of marijuana in
south Tangerang on February 2. Airport customs seized the heroin from
smugglers.
Science
Times reported the wind circulated the smoke right
after the police started the fire. A journalist needed to “sit down and have a
cup of tea” to fight off the high.
