Two children have died
after a 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck the eastern Democratic Republic of
Congo on Thursday.
BBC reports the
epicentre of the quake was near Lake Tanganyika and Bukavu, the capital of
South Kivu province, Information Minister Lambert Mende told AP news agency. He
said the earthquake could also be felt in Goma, the capital of the North Kivu
province which is about 217 km (135 miles) north.
The
earthquake that had an impact on the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo was also
felt in neighbouring Rwanda, as its Ministry of Disaster Management
