Tribunal Sacks Rivers Speaker

The Rivers state election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja has nullified the election of Owaji Ibani as speaker of the state house of assembly.

The tribunal also invalidated the election of 20 members of the legislative chamber, who were all elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Rivers state elections tribunal sitting in Abuja has cancelled the House of Assembly elections in 3 local governments.They are as follows:

1.    Gokana LGA

2.    Bonny LGA

3.    ASALGA

The ruling came exactly two days after the tribunal annulled the victory of Nyesom Wike as governor of the state, and ordered fresh poll within 90 days.
