The All Progressives
Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari is has gone to
his polling unit at Sarikin- Yara in Daura and undergone accreditation process. His wife, Aisha Buhari (pictured) was undergoing accreditation as this report was filed.
The
atmosphere in Daura town is very calm and ready for the historic election.
GRAPHITTI NEWS reports:
Many supporters of
the former Head of State milled around the polling unit in wait for their
illustrious son. With high expectation for a possible victory at this year's
poll, the indigenes of Daura are in prayerful mood as they gathered in
clusters.
Driving through a
long stretch of smooth road from the state capital, Katsina, to Buhari's home
town, Daura, at about 6.30 - 7am this morning, reports monitored indicate to
GRAPHITTI NEWS that a peaceful, serene atmosphere prevailed, with people moving
about normally. Apart from the presence of campaign posters and party flags
that adorn the road and strategic points, there is nothing to indicate that the
people were gripped with any kind of election fever.
Many villagers were
seen sitting down at food joints eating and taking their breakfast while others
gather in clusters with radios in their hands discussing.
Whereas, the presence
of the PDP can be seen more with the posters of its candidates dotting all over
the place, APC supporters apparently were doing their thing in style, hoisting
the party symbol - the brooms - along with Buhari's picture across the roads to
indicate their presence.
APC showed remarkable
dominance at Buhari home town, Daura with the presidential candidate's
poster dotting every inch of the streets in the village.
