The crime against
humanity trial of Chad's former ruler Hissene Habre is due to resume this
morning in Senegal's capital Dakar, where he has been in exile for more than
two decades.
BBC reports that Mr Habre denies responsibility for the deaths and
disappearance of thousands of people between 1982 and 1990.
He
is the first ex-ruler to be tried by an African Union-backed court for
atrocities committed during his rule.
The
trial was suspended in July after he and his lawyers refused to speak to the
judge.
