Renato Sanches: Manchester United On The Verge Of Signing The New Ronaldinho?

Manchester United have tabled a £31million bid for the man dubbed the new Ronaldinho.  Louis van Gaal’s side are in advanced negotiations to bring the teenage sensation to Old Trafford from Benfica.

SunSport report continues:

Sanches, 18, has buy-out clause on his contract of nearly £60million but United are looking to pay around half of that with a further £7m in add-ons, according to reports in Portugal.

United famously missed out on Ronaldinho in 2003 when then Barcelona president Sandro Rosell lured the Brazilian to the Nou Camp.

And Old Trafford officials look to have learnt from their past mistakes as they don’t want to miss out on the next potential Ronaldinho.

Sanches’ talents were spotted by United scouts who had originally gone to see Goncalo Guedes and Eliseu.

But just who is the player United are so keen to sign, here we run the lowdown on him.

The Portuguese starlet has already netted twice in just eight games for Benfica — as well as cementing a regular place in the first-team.

He is a strong box-to-box midfielder who is good in the air as well as with the ball at his feet.

The 18-year-old is well-known for his versatility as he can play as a defensive midfielder, winger and a playmaker.

With Michael Carrick only having five months remaining on his contract and Bastian Schweinsteiger aging, the youngsters adaptability would be warmly welcomed in Manchester.

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone said: “He has a strong shot and good vision for someone in his position. It’s always nice to see good young players.”
It looks as though Simeone is certainly be right about that strong shot.
