The decomposed body of the former Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Prof. Albert Ilemobade who was reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen last week was on Sunday  found hidden  in a store in his Ijapo Estate residence in Akure, Ondo state capital.
Daily Trust reports the former Vice Chancellor was reportedly abducted last Monday along with his gateman and was said to be taken to an unknown destination until his body was found by security operatives.
Sources said the Octogenarian’s decomposed body was found after the arrest of two of his domestic staff by security agents in Ogun state while trying to sell the Toyota RAV4 Jeep stolen from the late Ilemobade’s residence.
The two suspects confessed to killing Ilemobade, hiding his corpse in a store which housed the generating set before running away with his Vehicle which they planned to sell.
Following the arrest of the two suspects in Ogun state, the police in Ondo state went to the deceased house in Ijapo estate, Akure for a raid and investigation but found the late VC’s corpse in the store.
When journalist visited the scene on Sunday, the body had been removed by detectives to the mortuary for autopsy.
All attempts to speak with family members was unsuccessful as some of the family members including two of his children and his wife looked too emotional to speak.
But the Vicar of the Vining Church, Dr Ayodeji Fagbemi who was at the Ilemobade's residence said the corpse of the deceased was found soaked with Diesels in the store.
Fagbemi said the two suspects apprehended by the Police in Ogun state were domestic staff of the late former VC saying one of them was the Driver while the other one was the gateman.
The Vicar who simply identified the suspects as his driver, Yemi, and security guard, Daniel explained that the two suspects carried out their nefarious act in a way that deceived the family that the man was kidnapped by gunmen.
He said the wristwatch of the deceased and his slippers were found outside the compound to signify that the university Don was dragged into the car by his abductors.
The Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Isaac Eke said the two suspects have been apprehended by men of the Ogun state command and will be transferred to the state.
