Ethiopia's world record holder Genzebe
Dibaba has won gold in the women's 1500 metres at the World Athletics
Championships in Beijing.
BBC reports Dibaba hit the front with two laps to go and pulled away to win the
race by several metres. Kenya's Faith Kipyegon claimed the silver - Netherlands
Ethiopian-born Sifan Hassan took the bronze.
Kenya's
Nicholas Bett has claimed his country's first ever gold at any distance shorter
than 800m with a victory in the Men's 400m hurdles.
Bett's time of 47.79 is a
new Kenyan record and the fastest time of the year so far. The African record
is 47.10, set by Zambia's Samuel Matete.
